Sudah berulang kali pentolan unit rock asal Inggris, The Libertines, Pete Doherty berurusan dengan polisi akibat ketergantungan narkotika, mulai dari masalah berkendara di jalanan, pencurian hingga perkelahian. Doherty sempat mengatakan narkotika telah mengacaukan kehidupanya serta berkata tak yakin dapat terbebas dari ketergantungannya tersebut. Sang ibu, Jacqueline bahkan pernah menerbitkan buku yang menyinggung masalah narkotika Doherty yang berjudul Pete Doherty: My Prodigal Son.
Awal Januari lalu, Doherty telah dinyatakan “lulus” dari sebuah panti rehabilitasi di Thailand. Dilansir The Sunday Telegraph, Doherty akan membawa serta penyuluh rehabnya, Dylan Kerr selama promosi album terbarunya. Kerr akan bersama The Libertines selama tur konser di Meksiko dan beberapa negara lainnya pada November mendatang.
"Doherty rehabilitation worker has now become part of The Libertines, Dylan Kerr has five weeks to accompany Pete practicing in the studio," said The Libertines management through press release. When asked about Doherty's rehabilitation progress, Kerr admitted he could not explain too much because Doherty's health problems are confidential. "He is clearly very happy with the progress he is experiencing, and his performance is improving," Kerr said.

Performanya semakin membaik,” ujar Kerr.
